Exam time is a difficult time to cope with for all students, especially students appearing for board exams as well as HSC exams. The pressure of performing better takes a toll on the children and builds lot of pressure on them which gets to much to handle. If not taken care this pressure or exam stress can lead to severe damage for a child physically or emotionally. Too much of stress is not good as it will affect their performances even if they have worked hard for it. Hence it is very important to beat the exam stress and try to relax as much as required to feel better.

Symptoms of exam stress

Its necessary for a child to beat the exam stress if they wish to perform better. Parents too need to take care of certain things which will help the children beat the exam stress and achieve good results.  Here are few tips that will help a child to beat exam stress:

Parents cool it

High expectations, constant nagging from parents and constant comparirsons too can be one reason why a child get too worried. Not just parents but even schools, coaching classes, family, relatives all put too much pressure on a child which may cause a lot of stress in children and thus deactivate them. Parents need to realise that a child may need constant breaks from his studies to relieve pressure. They can watch television for some time or take a stroll or even chat with friends which can help them beat stress.

What is there to fear about

Children often fear that once they are abou to write the answers they might just forget it all. I mean why should that even happen? You know that you have prepared so there's nothing to worry about. But let me tell you that this is very nirmal and can happen to any child who is under pressure. So its ideal to relax and stop reading books  half an hour before exam time. Instead practise some deep breathing exercises which may help you to relieve pressure.

Avoid all kind of panics

That's very important for student to learn. Worrying and panicking is taking them nowhere. The tension is definitely going to build up and everybody is going to feel it. If other's can handle this pressure then why not you!

Avoid heavy meals

Don't take heavy meals during exam time. Instead go for short meals and prefer includion of lot of vegetables, milk, lean meat and fruits in your daily food. Lots of fruit juices and even water intake is advisable.

Good sleep is important

Work out a proper time table and ensure that you leave enough time for sleeping. A student should get proper 8 hours sleep everyday. So in case if you plan to wake up early and study, then make it a point to sleep early in the night.

Always maintain a positive approach

Its very important to be POSITIVE. A student has to be confident about himself. Also be around people who are positive and sound minded. Never entertain people with negative thinking at least week before your exams as this may only worsen the stuation. Smile more and keep talikng. Don't just gloom away. A Adam Sandler movie or Jim Carrey movie will definitely be helpful in this stressful situation.:)

Follow your timetable regularly

If you have prepared a regular routine for yourself, see that you follow it without fail every single day. Follow regular study time tables, sleep routines, diet plans and regular breaks.

Practice Yoga

Yoga is best way to beat exam stress. Pranayams, yogasana etc if followed regulalry will definitely help a child to relieve the tension and feel more positive.

Finally remember that its just another exam that you plan to give. Be positive, enjoy some playful sessions, listen to music to beat stress and have a good rest. This way you will not only beat the exam stress but also perform better and achieve good results.

My best wishes to you :)
