Gobi Mattar Shaak Recipe - Cauliflower Peas Shaak Sabji

A very easy and tasty recipe of shaak (sabji) cooked with cauliflower and green peas. Can be cooked in a matter of minutes with ingredients mostly available in our refrigerator and served with roti and curd.

Ingredients for Gobi Mattar Shaak Recipe


Gobi florets (cauliflower) - 2 cups
Green peas - 1 cup
Onion - 1, finely chopped
Tomatoes - 2, finely chopped
Green chilies - 2, sliced
Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
Coriander powder - 2 tsp
Cumin powder - 1 tsp
Red chili powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt, as required

Method for Gobi Mattar Shaak Recipe

Heat oil in a non-stick kadai. Add mustard seeds, cumin and allow it to splutter.

Add sliced green chilies and onion. Saute till onions are soft.

Add all the masala and saute. Add tomatoes and continue to cook. Once tomatoes  are incorporated with the onions and the masala, add the cauliflower florets and green peas.

Add salt and sprinkle little water. Allow the sabji to cover and cook on a low flame. Keep stirring occasionally. Cook till done.
